Recommended Posts

Older versions of Windows connected you to the computer before checking credentials. Newer versions of Windows now check your credentials before connecting to the remote computer.

  • Open Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc.exe)
  • Click Show Options
  • Click Save As and save the connection settings
  • Open the saved file with a text editor and change
  • authentication level:i:2

    authentication level:i:0
  • Add the following new line to the file

  • Save the file and run it connecting to the remote computer as normal
